For me personally, being a Type One Diabetes Mom has made me a better parent in the past year, in my opinion. While Carter is my third child and I’m certainly not new to motherhood, Carter has made me reevaluate a lot of choices I make with all three of my kids now.

My head was spinning but I pulled a nurse aside and asked if Carter would be ok. I expected something along the lines of "now that we know what it is he will be fine in no time" ... Instead I got this horrible look of pity. She said to me "we are doing everything we can... But he is currently in critical condition".

it was the kind of moment where you swear your heart stops, your stomach drops and your palms get sweaty. TELL ME I didn’t forget this. TELL ME it’s here, somewhere, and that I didn’t just epically fail at life. 

 

Sometimes, we just can't be as perfect as we want. Sometimes, we are only human and make mistakes. Sometimes, they are critical mistakes that could cause someone harm. But ALWAYS, we learn from the moment, dust ourselves off and move on <3
